Tell Me About the Stud Dog.
The stud dog should represent breed type, show good character, be a
by-product of his breeding, and able to pass this on to his offspring.
Tell Me About the Brood Bitch.
The brood bitch should show the same characteristics as the stud dog,
must be a good mother and an easy whelper with an adequate milk supply.
She will have the most physical influence on her puppies, so she must
be ultra-sound!
What are the most critical periods in puppy training.
Puppies have the ability to learn from the age of 7 weeks. All experiences
should therefore be positive, and formal training should begin after
teething, at approximately 5 months of age.
What about "dew claws"?
Dew claws, like tails, should be removed within the first 5 days after
birth.
What are the best times for inoculations?
We inoculate for Parvo at five weeks, Parvo/Distemper at seven weeks,
and DA2P+P+PV+Lepto+Corona at nine, twelve
and sixteen weeks.
